Simon Watson has spent decades photographing rooms with lives already happening inside them. Other Lives, Other Stories moves through private homes, artists’ studios and remarkable architecture across Europe, North Africa and India, pairing his photographs with personal observations about the places and people behind them.
It is an interiors book, certainly, but also a book about atmosphere, travel and the way a room can reveal a life. The generous scale makes it especially good for slow looking.
