Ranger Station was founded by Steve Soderholm, a touring drummer with roots in the Minnesota North Woods. In 2015, while looking for a more grounded creative path, Steve began making candles inspired by nature, memory, and the familiar scents of home: pine, leather, musk, smoke, and woods.
The brand began with candles poured into reusable cocktail glasses—a detail that remains central to Ranger Station’s identity. Steve and Jordan Soderholm have since grown the company into a Nashville-based fragrance house known for candles, perfumes, and deeply personal scent stories.
At Mercer, we love Ranger Station because the story has real entrepreneurial spark. It is creative, scrappy, and handsomlymade. The fragrances feel rooted in place but not trapped by nostalgia—more like a memory you can light, wear, or keep nearby.
