Misewell was founded in 2008 by brothers Vincent and Paul Georgeson in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The brothers spent their childhood tinkering in their father’s garage workshop, learning the value of hands-on making. That early experience led them both to study industrial design. After graduating and gaining professional experience in product and furniture design studios, they launched Misewell with a simple, pragmatic name that captured their no-nonsense Midwest ethos.

From the beginning, their philosophy has been straightforward: design honest, functional, timeless objects that are built to last. Every piece is designed by Misewell and made in the United States. The company made its debut at ICFF in 2009 with its first furniture collection and immediately won the New Designer Award (Editors’ Choice).

In 2020, amid production challenges during the pandemic, Misewell made a deliberate pivot. The brothers shifted focus from their core furniture line to ceramic lighting and a broader range of handcrafted home goods. They built out their own ceramics studio in Milwaukee, where they now produce all ceramics entirely in-house by hand. Today they employ a small team of skilled artists and designers who help bring each piece to life. While high-quality lighting components are sourced globally to meet the highest standards, every finished Misewell product—furniture, lighting, ceramics, and accessories—is proudly made in the USA.

More than 15 years after launch, Misewell continues to evolve while staying true to its roots: “Where timeless design meets American craft.” The brothers remain based in Milwaukee, still collaborating daily and still obsessed with making objects people will love for a lifetime.
