Lithops, often called “Living Stones,” are tiny succulent plants that have evolved to resemble pebbles as camouflage in their native desert habitats. Members of the Lithops genus, they feature paired fleshy leaves split down the center, often patterned with intricate markings in shades of gray, green, rust, pink, or tan. Minimal, sculptural, and slightly surreal, they feel more like natural objects than traditional plants.

Light

Very bright light to direct sun is ideal. A sunny windowsill is often the perfect spot.

Water sparingly and allow soil to dry completely between waterings. During certain dormant periods, watering may need to stop almost entirely.

Care

Use a gritty cactus or succulent mix with exceptional drainage. Prefers warm, dry conditions with plenty of airflow. Avoid humidity and never allow the plant to sit in wet soil, as excess moisture can quickly cause rot.
